larson teams up with alumnus at tallgrass theatre

kristin larson, associate professor and chair of theatre arts and speech at grand view, has teamed up with a former student to mount a dream project at tallgrass theatre in wes des moines.
michael tallman, a theatre major who graduated in 2012, has been active in des moines theatre since graduation, and he suggested the idea that they submit a production for the dream project. the two proposed other desert cities, a really spectacular family drama (with a mystery) by jon robin baitz with michael as director and kristin featured in the role of brooke wyeth. kristin says, "it is an honor to work on this production with michael. he is a grand view graduate who is making a positive impact on theatre in des moines, and it is so much fun to be acting under his direction. the show is beautifully produced, and we have a stellar cast."
the production runs from january 17 to february 2 on friday and saturday nights at 7:30 p.m., sundays at 2 p.m. tickets are $20 in advance, or $23 at the door.
synopsis: brooke wyeth returns home to palm springs after a six-year absence to celebrate christmas with her parents, her brother, and her aunt. brooke announces that she is about to publish a memoir dredging up a pivotal and tragic event in the family's history—a wound they don't want reopened. in effect, she draws a line in the sand and dares them all to cross it.
